With the holiday season right around the corner, Dad suggested (and I agree) that we should do a family service project. So, any ideas? Other than, of course, we will be mailing massively large care packages to a certain Elder in the MTC. And by that I mean Palmer.
I was thinking it would be good to do something on one of the days of the week before Christmas, since I'm taking off work and the students will be home. What are your thoughts, Smith Family?

I'm down, times a bajillion!
Unfortunately, I have no specific ideas.
Well, here are some specific ideas:
- We could help with Share, Inc.'s holiday party for people struggling in our area (http://www.shareofmclean.org/). They need a hall to hold the event, so we could see if the Church would let us hold it there. If not, we could still volunteer at it.
- We could volunteer at "Holiday for Hope" with Dreams for Kids, on December 19. I know that's a Sunday but we could go after church, the event is 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. (http://www.volunteermatch.org/search/opp725258.jsp)
- We could spend Christmas Eve visiting the homebound in DC (http://www.volunteermatch.org/search/opp766064.jsp)
- We could make a meal and deliver it to the Montgomery County homeless shelter (http://www.volunteermatch.org/search/opp760170.jsp)
- Volunteer at Martha's Table in DC to prepare meals for the homeless (http://www.marthastable.org/volunteer-opportunities.html). They need people every day from 10-1.
- Come up with a family fund to donate to a charity of our choosing.
What do you think? Any other ideas?
They all sound great!
